What inspired you to look into video interviewing?

A:

Phone interviews are very time consuming for our managers and only one interviewer has the opportunity to experience it for themselves. Many of our candidates are in different locations and we had to pay for their travel expenses before seeing if they were truly a good fit. A thorough screening and interviewing process would save our organization time and money.

What criteria did you have in mind for a video interviewing solution?

A:

We wanted a platform that was easy to use, reliable, had the ability to share video interviews across the interview team, and customizable.

A:

We often did phone interviews with multiple candidates and it was exciting to see if we could reduce the amount of time HR and hiring managers were spending on the phone while getting a better look at all of our candidates.

We estimate it takes approximately 5 minutes to review a video interview compared to 30 minutes per phone screen. As a result, we have saved countless hours and thousands of dollars by using video interviewing. We begin by reviewing resumes, then screen candidates on the phone, and finally bring in candidates for face-to-face interviews.

The time we’ve saved by getting rid of phone screens. Video interviewing has allowed us to cast a wider net over our candidate pool. In the same amount of time, we can ask 10 people to complete a video, where we would have only had time interview 3 or 4 by phone.

I like that I can view the videos on my phone at any time with the mobile app. I also like the email notifications because it allows me to check Spark Hire only when there are new interviews to review.
