John Neral Coaching wanted to better prepare clients for virtual interviewing by providing detailed feedback and training with a video interview platform.
More of my clients were talking about how they were being invited to participate in one-way video interviews and I wanted to learn more about it to see how I could help prepare them and serve them better as their career transition coach.
I was only using Zoom prior to Spark Hire and I certainly didn't have the ability to do one-way video interviewing with my clients.
Spark Hire was an easy choice given how simple it was to create a one-way interview and keep all of my clients’ videos organized.
I was able to use Spark Hire immediately after my orientation. It was simple to create my first one-way interview for a client and from there, I was able to keep going. It's provided an additional value to my coaching practice that I didn't have earlier this year.
By having my clients use Spark Hire, they are more prepared and comfortable using a one-way video platform. I've even had some clients get invited to a Spark Hire interview meaning they were already familiar with the Spark Hire platform. Interviews are stressful enough, but this is another way for me to help them prepare for their interviews and be better at telling their story from a place of value and service.
We covered interview coaching during our sessions and I help my clients through the entire interview process including how to best answer certain questions. Sometimes, we would record our sessions over Zoom so they could review later. Feedback was usually given in the moment and clients would have access to the recording.
The pandemic made this easy because once my clients started getting invited to interviews, they realized that they needed to excel in all areas and formats of interviews.
My aha moment came after I was able to review a client's response to their first one-way interview, replay the video several times and watch their answers to each question to give them feedback. It made everything easier. Not only did it save me time, but it quickly became a wonderful value-add to my coaching package and experience with my clients.
As career coaches, we want to serve our clients as best as we can. If you are doing video interviewing with your clients, you need to offer this service to them. Not only will it improve your coaching and support for your clients, but it will help them prepare far better for their next interview. Their success is your success!
