What inspired you to look into video interviewing?

A:

We needed a way to raise the quality of the candidates that we were flying in to interview. There are a lot of intangibles that make a good candidate fit and video interviewing provides the opportunity to look for those intangibles with a candidate. These intangibles are especially important in positions that have a high customer facing aspect.

Did Spark Hire replace a similar tool or is this the first time your team is using video interviewing?

A:

This was the first time we implemented video interviewing.

What criteria did you have in mind for a video interviewing solution?

A:

The platform had to be easy to use for candidates. We also wanted the ability to customize the candidate experience and share videos with hiring decision makers.

A:

What are some of the results you’ve seen with Spark Hire?

A:

The percentage of candidates that were ultimately hired by our client improved by 60%. The video interviews provide our candidates an opportunity to sell themselves and for us to see if the candidate fits the position profile. This meant that a higher quality of candidate was ultimately invited to a face to face interview. In the past, candidates were brought in for face to face interviews based purely on paper screen alone.

A:

Review paper resume and then invite candidates to interview based exclusively on their resume.

How does video interviewing fit into your recruiting process?

A:

Through both video questions and candidate video answers, both the company and the candidate can sell themselves. Spark Hire allows candidates to directly address questions and competencies and the hiring manager can easily determine if the candidate should proceed to the next step which would be a face to face interview.

How do you get your team members to buy in to video interviewing?

A:

It was very easy to get their buy in because video interviewing saves them time. Video interviewing allows them to identify quality candidates prior to bringing them in for a face to face.

What is the biggest impact that video interviewing has on your recruiting process?

A:

Spark Hire has significantly improved the quality of candidates brought in for face to face interviews.

What was your aha moment — the moment you knew you loved Spark Hire?

A:

When we saw candidates not prepare for the interview or not present themselves in a professional manner, we realized how much time we were saving. If we did not use video interviewing, we would have invited that person to an in-person interview based on their resume. The video interview provided us an opportunity to see which candidates were serious about the position.
